On "Primal" Painting and the Gestalt Principle

I don’t tackle a project head on and attempt to go at my canvas kamikaze style. I save that for when I’m in the mood to do so, usually after a few sips of gin and juice (I’m gangsta baby)! An artist should treat a blank canvas like prime real estate. Careful planning makes for a more fluid and cohesive piece of work. Take the ‘gestalt’ principles seriously! If you don’t know what that word means just Google it. Otherwise your piece will look like it was done by a chimp. Trust me, get to know gestalt and apply it to everything you know. Unless, you really are going after that “chimp” look. That I will understand.
